Native Spice Classes at Saltbush Kitchen

Saturday 6 June to Sunday 20 August Workshops held on Saturdays at 2:30pm to 4:00pm and Sundays 11:00am to 12:30pm excludes Saturday 25 July and Saturday 29 August Bush spice classes every Saturday and Sunday through winter at Saltbush Kitchen. Come along and throw some bush spices around and learn how to use them in your own kitchen. Enjoy a spice session with Brigid Corcoran and Debbie Rose that will take your taste-buds on a spice adventure and share some stories about the history of Bushfoods in Australia. Cost: $40.00 per person and $30.00 for Ballarat locals which includes entry into the M.A.D.E exhibition, your spice session, lots of delicious bush flavoured foods, sip on a few bush flavoured drinks, a wander through our little bushfood garden and take home your own bush spice. Understanding Resilience and Children Workshop

Wednesday 5 August This workshop is beneficial for all professionals working with young people. Understand how to more effectively encourage young people to empower themselves and be more resilient in their thinking. You will receive information relating to four personal powers used to respond in any situation. You will understand how to encourage young people to take responsibility for themselves as well as be accountable for themselves. You will learn how to motivate young people to move from the temptation to blame others, to owning their choices and decisions. We also explore how young people can use their emotions to empower themselves, rather than be limited by their emotions. You will siscover a new way of thinking about ‘Empowerment’ and ‘Resilience’ learn how to explain it to young people. The workship includes learn about our four personal powers, develop the skills to encourage young people to own their four personal powers, learn the ‘Power Zone’ process and how to apply to young people, understand how to encourage young people to NOT take responsibility for other people’s responses, learn about Empowering Emotions and how to support young people, discover the importance of personal powers in Decision Making.
