Voice FM is pleased to include this press release and encourage anyone interested in becoming a Voice FM Presenter to seriously consider this opportunity to undertake accredited training right here in Ballarat.
The romance of radio will be shared by Ballarat identity and top announcer Mike Cooper as part of a new screen and media school.
The golden tones of the leading 3BA announcer will be delving into the secrets of radio success for a new generation of communicators.
Mike says he is excited by the prospect of sharing his life-long experience of a medium he loves.
“Radio is a key communications tool, offering ways to interact with people that other mediums can’t replicate,” he said.
“Even though you are in a small studio filled with technical equipment, the key is still to be a people person.”
Mike said the concept of a radio course had already elicited strong interest, with a dozen expressions of interest.
Mike last year completed his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to become a qualified trainer.
He is working with former Ballarat PR personality and Golden Plate Awards organiser, Pam Jewson and veteran journalist John Van Klaveren to offer the screen and media-related courses.
“It’s important that the people leading the course are active in the industry, otherwise it’s just theory,” Mike said.
“We want this to be a practical, hands-on experience where participants can harness their passion for a career in radio or TV.”
Mike said the Certificate IV and Diploma in Screen and media courses would be small to enable personal guidance through their 16 week duration.
Areas covered by the school include voice over for TV and radio commercials, copy writing for news and commercials, making presentations, and even media training for businesses and corporates.
All courses receive nationally accredited qualification through registered training organization Diversitat and government funding may be available to some participants.
An information evening is going to be held at the Ballarat Business Centre in Dawson Street on Wednesday evening 21st March between 6pm to 9pm.
All facets of the courses available will be discussed and enrolments will be taken on the night as well.
