Indian Program – Salaam Namaste

Presenters:  Saurabh and Azad
Time:  Saturday7-9pm.
Language: Hindi

It is primarily an Indian music show which plays latest songs from Bollywood. However we will keep adding some old songs to keep our older population attached to the show as well.
1. One the biggest problem Indian immigration face in Australia is to figure out which songs are topping the charts back home. We will play the top-20 songs from Bollywood.
2. Discussion: The songs will be interjected by with very light-hearted discussions on current topics which interest newly migrated population of Indian sub-continent. We will pick-up current issues from India and Australia and put Indian perspective to it. We will weave-in a bit of Bollywood gossip to it as well.
3. The how to guide: A lot of Indian new immigrants are looking for occupation/business in the new country. They want to know how to start a business or enter an industry or simply what are the government requirements when buying a second hand car. We would interview one expert every week to give an insight into businesses/industry/processes. They are really small segments where we give very specific information.
4. The Achievers: We would interview successful Indian immigrants. The idea of this segment is to give a sense of pride and hope to the community and install the feeling that Australia is still the land of opportunities. This won’t be a very regular segment, but as and when we will find someone worth interviewing, we will add a small interview to our programme.
