Dragon Time is a show to provide Chinese people, their descendants and all other persons with an interest in Chinese culture the opportunity to share the activities of the Ballarat Chinese community; broadcast local, state, national and world wide news in Chinese languages; Chinese music particularly traditional Chinese music and music instruments; promote friendship, cultural knowledge and understanding within the wider community from all ethnic backgrounds; supporting multicultural frameworks from all levels of government; and providing a diverse service to all people within the region.

MOONCAKE FESTIVAL
中秋节
The Moon Cake Festival is over, and we can now sit back and see if running the festival was successful. The Society feels that it was well worth the effort that went into running the festival as it gave Ballarat a lot of exposure and would consider doing it on a regular base if funding can be obtained

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
年度会员大会
On Friday 14th October we held our A.G.M. at G Place English Street and attended by 40 of our members. The number of members to attend showed there is great support for the Society. Office bearers were elected for the 2011-2012 season.
10月14日我们在位于English 大街上的多元文化中心举行了年度会员大会。有40名左右的会员参加。参加的人数表明大家对我们社团还是很支持的。2011-2012年度的理事会成员在本次大会上被选举出来。

It was decided at the meeting to increase our membership fees for the 2012-2013 season which will begin after our financial year ending June 30th 2012.

The Xmas B.B.Q will be held at the Learmonth Fauna park on Sunday December 4th. Entry to the Park on this day for ALL PERSONS who wish to come will be Adults $5.50 Children $3.50.MONEY MUST BE PAID BY NOVEMBER 30TH TO ENABLE TO CATER FOR THIS DAY. Tickets will be issued for entry to the park NO TICKET NO ENTRY.

Everybody will meet at the SPOTLIGHT CAR PARK AT 10.30AM and will travel to Learmonth together.

Fishing will be free with fishing gear supplied, BUT ANY FISH CAUGHT MUST BE PAID FOR AND CANNOT BE RETURNED TO THE WATER.

YABBIES CAUGHT CAN BE RETURNED TO THE WATER IF NOT REQUIRED TO EAT.

LION DANCE

The lions were asked to perform at Bray Raceway on October 22nd to mark the anniversary of 150 years of Trotting. The routine was warmly received by the huge crowd that attended on the night and was thoroughly enjoyed by prominent guests from Melbourne. The President and the C.E.O. of the Ballarat Trotting Club send their warmest congratulations to our Society on a job well done.

Another Sunday Oct 30th has come and the lions are again on the road, this time performing at Springfest and Dragon Boats on the lake ceremony. Our lion dancers are now receiving a lot of invitations to perform at various functions and if any parties are interested in booking get in early as we are approaching our Chinese New Year and we have a busy schedule ahead.

Our late inclusion is now to perform at the Ballarat Astisans Festival at the Mining Exchange on November 5th.
