Phil plays 2 hours of the latest new indie music with an Aussie bent and an album of the week with the odd relevant older song.  An eclectic mix across many genres.  A slightly irreverent show that pulls no punches.

Pugsley Buzzard graced the studio on Thursday 14th of June 2012, he let loose some fabulous blues tunes live, & spoke about some of his adventures touring around the world. A very talented man!!

An interview with the very talented Juan Alban  went to air Thursday 20th October 2011.  Juan played half a dozen songs live, a couple of which were from his soon to be released new album. Juan was the front man of Ballarat band Epicure, he is embarking on a solo career, he released his debut solo EP earlier last year and has the beautiful single is “A death in the Family”

 Other highlights from past weeks….

Marcus Perry joined me in the studio to talk about the great Ballarat bands he plays bass in, Matheson & The Rye Catchers, both of whom have new albums in the wings.

The fabulous band ’Funky Turtles’ visited the studio to play some tracks off of their second album & have a chat.

‘Off the Tracks’ paid tribute to the late, great Paddy ‘O’ Driscoll by playing music just from this  musically talented town of ours. Paddy’O’ was a local legend in the musical and pub scenes in Ballarat and sadly passed away recently.

Shane Howard, he of Goanna fame rang in for a long chat about his life, the country we live in, the Richmond footy club and his new solo album “Goanna Dreaming”.  What an amazing man he is!!

Marc Oswin, song writer, guitarist and singer of Ballarat band “X’s & O’s” came into the studio and impressed all the listeners (and me) with playing his compositions live.  A very talented Ballaratite indeed!

Marcus Perry, bass player for Mathieson, a Ballarat band who recently released the fabulous album “These Are My Horses” joined “Off The Tracks” for a couple of hours to play plenty of fine music and have a chat. The new album should be out soon. Marcus’s other band, the very rock’n The Rye Catchers are also releasing an album shortly.

‘Off the Tracks’ has been part of the “Live on the Balcony” nights with ‘Tinderbox’, the nights feature great live music; look out for the next big night.

Dishpan Fingers AKA Cameron Ross has been in a couple of times to perform his beautifully crafted tunes.
