    The race is on to find Victoria’s most sustainable schools, with entries now open,
    To be in the running for the top award, Resource Smart School of the Year, schools must enter at least three of the resource areas. This year’s winner will join a group of schools demonstrating stand-out achievements in sustainability, as well as mentoring other schools,
    The Coalition Government has committed $8.3 million over four years to extend that reach to a further 400 schools throughout the state.
    Award entries close 5pm, Thursday 1 August and winners will be announced at the ResourceSmart School Awards 2013 presentation to be held during Term 4.

  • Walk safely to school day
    On Friday 24 May 2013 primary school children from all over Australia will be walking to school with their parents or carers. This community event seeks to promote healthy lifestyles, road safety and the environment.
    Today over 25% children are overweight or obese.  This is expected to increase to over 33% in the next decade unless children become more physically active and improve their diets. We are therefore asking schools across Australia to encourage families to walk to school on 24 May and register their support at http://www.walk.com.au/wstsd01/page.asp?PageID=260

National Youth Week (NYW) is the largest celebration of young people in Australia. Thousands of young people aged 12-25 from across Australia get involved in NYW each year, this year the event ran from the 5 to 14 April and it was a huge success,
we look forward to next year’s youth week so keep an eye out it will come back around quickly.

 

Same song Same time 2 is now an official National Youth Week event supported by the Victorian Government. Keeping this year’s “NYW” theme “Be Active. Be Happy. Be You” it is important for young people today to feel comfortable in their own skin.
